This hummingbird statement necklace features both green and red amber from Lithuania. It was hand fabricated from fine and sterling silver sheet and wire and is a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art jewelry.

The blossoms are detachable and can be worn on the chain OR as earrings. Oh yes. They feature rosecut Citrine and Carnelian and are attached to small lobster style clasps that simply hooks onto any part of the necklace chain or onto the hand formed sterling silver ear wires.
The amber are set in a rounded prong style settings as the hummingbirds throat and belly. I chose these colors as they are close to the Anna's Hummingbirds we have in our backyard here in Oregon. The prongs are higher than the amber, and don't point into it at all since amber is softer than stone, I made the prongs a bit like posts, and they hold the amber very tight, without poking into it. This style setting allows for maximum light through the amber, and I love how it turned out.
It's body was cut from sterling silver sheet, then I added layers of textured silver hand fabricated feathers with lots of detail, right down to it's tiny feet.
The chain is adjustable simply by hooking the lobster style clasp to any of the chain links. I made it longer so there can be options for length. I also added a hand cast sterling flower to the end of the chain.
This is a large statement sized necklace, but smaller than most of the other large winged necklaces I've made. It's wingspan is 4 5/8" wide and it's body is 2.75" from the tip of it's beak to tail.
The back plate has stamped detail as well as my LUYPANYXA makers mark and 925 for Sterling. All Sterling and Fine Silver.
Please think of this necklace as a piece of wearable art and treat it as such. See my jewelry care section for proper handling and care. If properly handled and cared for, this necklace will age beautifully. I sealed the darker areas of patina with a finish seal and polished the higher areas of silver with a museum grade wax called Renaissance Wax.. This helps to keep the fine and sterling from oxidizing too quickly.
