This highly detailed Statement cuff was inspired by a short documentary I watched about Peregrine Falcons living atop the tall buildings and old steel bridges here where I live in Oregon. The curve of silver wire like that of talon and feather, and rising skyward like that of a deco style tower. Wildness and nature's perfect form, living among human created form.
I had a dream about draping chains to the sides, then imagined a design that could work, and so pleased with the result.
Four of my hand cast Peregrine Falcon talons surround gemmy, natural Stone Mountain turquoise that was cut and cabbed right here at home by my partner and 3rd generation Lapidarist, Max Avila. Above and below are rose cut deep black onyx and an abundance of texture and detail.
This piece was a true labor of love, from my making molds of the talons and hand casting, to all the hand fabricated details. All edges were meticulously filed, sanded and polished buttery smooth as always. This cuff is a special piece of one-of-a-kind jewelry and is made to last lifetimes.
The face of the cuff is long and measures just under 4" in length and almost 2" wide it's widest.
The bracelet was formed from hefty 3 gauge half round sterling silver wire, and added both texture and hand stamping detail. It tapers to just under 3/4" at the cuff opening. I attached 3 chains of each side of the bracelet that are meant to drape a bit, and do so beautifully.
This cuff will best fit wrists that measure 6" or slightly less. It measures just over 5" inside with a 1" gap opening
The back plate is lightly textured with a trillium pattern and stamped with my LUPANYXA makers marks and STERLING.
