A favorite memory of my childhood was helping my Pappou/grandfather paint murals of his beloved Greek Islands, while we danced, sang and laughed. This cuff features a large, gemmy, drop shaped natural Stone Mountain turquoise cabochon, that reminds me of the Aegean Sea and islands, viewed from above. It's gemmy teal color and island matrix is absolutely dreamy. It was cut and cabbed right here at our little home studio by my partner and 3rd generation Lapidarist Max Avila. Stone Mountain is by far my favorite turquoise and this one is from my personal stash, and very difficult to part with. But, I feel this world needs more humans putting more beauty out there, and this cab just had to be this cuff. I set this big beauty in a serrated sterling bezel and surrounded it with hammer textured sterling wire and gave it a textural starfish crown.
I created the bracelet pieces from four sterling wires including, two heavy sterling half round wires on the inside, as well as two hammer textured sterling round wires on the outside.
At the ends of the cuff near the opening, I added an oval mermaid design from an antique button and a merman coin from and ancient Greek coin replica. I created molds of each, then hand cast in sterling silver. On the inside ends of the bracelet opening, I added smooth half round wire that hugs the wrist. All edges were filed, sanded and polished buttery smooth.
The back plate is ornately pattern textured and stamped with my LUPANYXA makers marks and STERLING.
The widest part of the bracelet measures just under 3" and tapers to 3/4" each end.
This is a M sized cuff and would best fit wrists that measure around 6" give or take a fraction. The inside measurement is 5" with a 1 1/4" gap opening, making the inner circumference 6 1/4". It cannot be resized, so please measure your wrists accurately to ensure proper fit and comfort.
