This cuff design makes me so happy. I spent hours coming up with the shape of the stylized spider and went back and forth, until it really clicked. It's all hand fabricated from fine and sterling silver sheet and wire. It's wide and has a bold feel, yet open enough that the skin beneath can breathe.
It features high grade, Polychrome Hubei Turquoise in the most gorgeous pale greens to golds I've seen. The shape of this cab is so beautiful and cabbed by Genevieve of Blackbird Cabs. I set a rose cut trillium shaped onyx as the spider's head, and both are set in fine silver.
I formed and textured the leg shapes from sterling silver I melted down and rolled myself, then added lots of hand texture to them, as well as in between. The legs come to dramatic points and carry over into the shape of the two outer bracelet wires. The center wire of the cuff I formed from hefty half round sterling and gave it a smooth and bright polish as a contrast to all the texture.
The face of the cuff is large/long and measures 4" x 2 3/8". It sits best on the wrist with the longer point/the spider's front legs pointing towards your elbow.
Best fits wrists that measure around 6" at the most, which is about my cuff size M. It measures 5" with a 1" opening that can be opened about 1/8".
The back plate is textured and stamped with my LUPANYXA makers mark and STERLING.
As always, all edges were meticulously filed, sanded and polished buttery smooth.
