This necklace is substantial and was entirely hand fabricated from silver sheet and wire. It features fiery, cognac Baltic Amber from my supplier in Lithuania, and has been in my personal stash, as well as a large, old stock vintage Howlite that was mined in the 1970s in California. The howlite was cut and cabbed right here at home by my partner and 2nd generation Lapidarist, Maxamillion Avila.
I set the howlite in a heavier fine silver bezel and the Baltic amber in a serrated sterling bezel. They are adorned with hand fabricated silverwork, including two tiny antlers like a crown around the amber's fire.
The bail I hand fabricated from heavy half round sterling with sparkle wire texture on top. It's partially hidden and soldered to the back plate.
The chain is a heavier, patterned oval chain and is adjustable from 21" down. Meaning, you can simply hook the swivel lobster clasp to any of the links to wear this necklace at any shorter length. If you would like a slightly longer chain, please add a not with your order and let me know, so I can add some links before shipping.
The back plate is ornately pattern textured and is stamped with my LUPANYXA makers mark and STERLING.
The pendant itself measures 3" in length including the bail and 2" wide.
Please refer to my jewelry care section and reach out to me if you have any care questions. I sealed the patina and silver with a museum quality wax called Renaissance Wax, which will help keep the darkened parts dark and brighter areas bright. With proper care and handling, this piece will stand the test of time and become an heirloom piece of art jewelry.
