I designed this piece to wear as a pin to wear in sunhats, straw hats or any hat one prefers really. It can also double as a hair pin if you have very long, textural hair. I hand fabricated the stylized spider to appear as if it climbing the pin and added texture all over. I really love how she turned out.
It features Opal Glass cut and cabbed by the infamous Lapidarist, Rockhound Gary and added a Cantera Fire Opal as the spider's head, that is fiery and flashy. Both set in toothy bezels.
I formed the pin from sterling silver I melted down a rolled out, then hammer textured and sharpened. Total length is 6 1/2".
The spider itself measures 2 1/4" x 1 1/4"
The back of the spider is stamped with my LUPANYXA makers mark and STERLING.
As always, all edges were meticulously filed, sanded and polished buttery smooth.
